FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Ponte Vedra Beach, Florida – Shelter to Shutters, a non-profit organization that works with apartment industry and real estate professionals to offer opportunity and economic independence to the homeless, is proud to announce Finlay Management, Inc. as a new property management partner.  Headquartered in Ponte Vedra Beach, FL, Finlay Management, Inc. has thirty-five years of experience in the multifamily industry.

“We were impressed with the Shelters to Shutters organization from the moment we were introduced to them,” said Kathy Hensley, Senior Vice President and COO. “Their mission aligns with our Core Value of Commitment to Others and Community. Shelters to Shutters’ focus on providing a “hand up” and support for individuals to gain economic independence is a good fit with our company.  We recently had our first new hire through the program and we could not be happier.”

It is estimated that over the course of a year, 3.5 million people experience homelessness, 40 percent of whom are children.  Most of these individuals and families experience a life-altering event such as a job loss, domestic abuse, or other situations and find themselves where they never thought they would be—without a home.  Unlike most perceptions, less than 30% of homeless have drug or alcohol dependency issues, or are mentally ill.  Most homeless want to work and return to a life of self-sufficiency.

Founded by Christopher C. Finlay, Founder and Managing Partner, Middleburg Real Estate Partners, Shelters to Shutters brings together apartment industry and real estate professionals who are committed to offering opportunity and economic independence to individuals facing homelessness. “It’s great to have my father’s company, Finlay Management, on board with the Shelters to Shutters program, “ Mr. Finlay said, “This new partnership ensures even more deserving and ready-to-work individuals experiencing homelessness will return to a life of self-sufficiency through housing and employment opportunities in property management.”
